What is the minimum age for enrolling my child in ISR lessons?

Rebekah starts lessons with children as young as 6 months old.

Why is there an additional $105 registration fee?

ALL ISR students must be cleared through the national ISR office PRIOR to starting their first in-water lesson. The registration fee goes to the national ISR office in Florida which supports a team of Doctors and Nurses that review each registration to ensure your child is medically able to participate and to ensure these are the safest swimming lessons held for your child.
I (as well as you) will receive e-mail confirmation from the national ISR office once your registration is approved, at which time your child’s time slot is set.
There are no discounts or exceptions for Registration Fees.
Start dates and time slots are not fully secured until completion of ISR registration is confirmed.

Will I ever have to register my child with ISR again?

The initial registration fee of $105 is a one-time fee. However, this registration is only valid for 6 months. If your child continues maintenance lessons beyond 6 months or returns after a break of 6 months, their registration will expire. To update their registration, there is a $45 fee.

How do I register or re-register with ISR?

Rebekah's ISR Swim Safe team will email and text you the ISR registration link.
* New students receive the registration link 2 weeks before they start swimming. ($105 fee)
* Currently registered students receive the link 10 days before the registration expires. ($45 fee).

Can my child eat before lessons?

Your child should also not eat or drink within 2 hours prior to their lesson time slot.
In addition, infants and toddlers should avoid apple products throughout the duration of their ISR Lessons. Apple products are high in fiber, which can cause gas and bloating that will make the floating and swimming maneuvers practiced during ISR lessons much more difficult.

Which life jacket does Rebekah recommend?

As for a pool, Rebekah does not recommend wearing a life jacket because it will give a false sense of security. It is better to hold your child or sit on an open-faced float. Then if the child falls in, they can turn and float.

As for a lake, as long as the child is not bobbing in the water, Rebekah recommends a type two life jacket that fits snugly. These will roll the child to their back if they are unconscious.

What should I bring to the first lesson?
